MBA rating: Five stars for a headband? You bet. This is one of those simple products that will become as much a staple in your riding gear as your helmet. Slide on the Halo II, take the fit pads out of your helmet (or go the next smaller size, because the Halo II acts as a fitting pad) and put your helmet on. Notice something? A more secure firm and secure fit than you ever felt with the helmet's stock sizing pads. Now go ride and make sure it is hot. Go ahead, sweat like you are in a sauna. The thin Halo soaks it up. No more showers of sweat over your glasses. Going downhill, the Halo keeps the helmet from rocking around on your head. And unlike helmet pads, our Halo never got stinky, plus it is easier to wash (just throw it in the washer with your jerseys).

"When I first saw the Hao a few years ago I was skeptical - its little yellow
strip and thin material looked silly. Surely that would be annyoying on long
rides and ultimately ineffective....
But since the first try, I've used a Halo consistently and exclusively because
it works great. It's made from two thin layers of Dryline fabric, a microfiber
polyester that not only wicks and evaporates moisture but also prevents the
growth of bacteria. The small rubberlike strip creates a watertight seal on your
forehead so that when the material gets saturated, sweat runoff doesn't drip
into your eyes or splatter your glasses. The Halo is durable; I've had years of
use from some of mine".

“Thought I would drop a note and tell you how much I enjoy your headbands! I discovered them over a year ago searching around the net, bought one of the original tie headbands to try it out. What a difference it made! As I wear glasses all the time, I was always having problems with sweat dripping down onto my glasses. With the Halo headband, I no longer have to worry about it! Sweat is transferred away from the front of my face and I NEVER have any problems!” ”After that, I decided to try out one of your Halo Protex. All I can say is GREAT! Really helps keep my head cool and dry! I have managed to lose my original tie headband and will be ordering another soon, but wanted you to know what I thought about them.”

Keeps sweat out of your eyes and of your face. Sure the fabric wicks, but the real secret is the ruddery strip on the back that channels sweat away

Halo makes a number of products to keep the sweat out of
your eyes (and off your sunglasses) while riding.
After the thrashing: The Skull Cap gives a more secure fit
than you've ever felt with the helmet's stock sizing pads. The
thin Skull Cap band soaks up sweat during the longest rides.
No more unexpected salty showers of sweat over your glasses
or into your eyes. Going downhill, the Skull Cap keeps the
helmet from rocking on your head. And unlike helmet pads,
our Skull Cap never got stinky, plus its easier to wash.
If you prefer wearing skullcaps, I give this product five stars.

My wife and I (and our friends) participate in several Adventure
Races. We live in Arizona where the sun and heat can be brutal.
I shave my head so my Halo does what my lack of hair can't and
keep the sweat out of my face. I prefer it to a hat as it does not interfere with my vision. Also, it is essential for keeping the sun
off my head. I have several colors and rarely do anything without it.
It is perfect under my cycling helmet as it is more comfortable and again keeps the sweat out of my face
I found halo at the San Diego Rock-n-Roll health and fitness expo last year.
I wore it for the marathon and have been wearing it ever since! I wear it for
running, softball and soccer. I wear it mainly to keep my hair out of my face
because it's made out of great material that breathes unlike other thick,
headbands. Plus, of course, it keeps any sweat off my face! They're great!
Thanks for an awesome product!
Nicole
Focus on my training, focus of my running, focus on my racing. But did not
lose focus due to sweat in my eyes. Did the job. Halo Headband - wouldn't
race without it.

Sweatband Shootout: Halo Headband
Mon, Jun 18, 2007 - By Mike Muha
I don't perspire, I sweat. It stings when it drips into my eyes and it splatters on my sunglasses. I've had some success using cotton bike caps and running hats: as the hat saturates, the sweat drips off the end of the brim instead of in my eyes.
But sometimes you just don't want to wear a cap under a helmet on those 90 degree sunny days. I've tried regular sport headbands with limited success. They saturate then start dripping into my eyes. But I've been using testing two products that claim to keep the sweat out of your eyes: the Halo and the Gutr.
The Halo
The Halo looks like a normal but lightweight sweatband made of Dryline fabric. On the inside is a 7 inch length of "Sweat Block", a rubbery material that runs along the forehead. As you begin sweating, the Halo absorbs the moisture. Some of the moisture evaporates. Once saturated, the Sweat Block redirects the sweat to the side of your face.
Sweat Block redirects sweat away from eyes to side of face.
The Halo fits easily under a helmet and looks like a normal sweatband when running bareheaded.
The Halo greatly reduced the amount of sweat getting into my eyes compared using a conventional sweatband. I still had to wipe my eyes occasionally while wearing it but far less frequently. I also noticed the inside of my sunglass lenses still get splattered from sweat on my face.
You can machine wash the Halo. The Halo also comes in several different versions including a bandana and tie version
Recommendations
If you want a fairly normal looking headband, the Halo is a good choice. It's light and quite effective at channeling sweat away from the eyes.

enjoys their custom printed Halo
Headbands.
"I love how they don't slip off my
head like normal headbands!"
- Hayley
"I like the thickness of the
headband, it's just right and not
too thin."
- Kelly
"We love how the yellow seal
prevents sweat from dripping down
the face. They are so comfortable!"
